Fragment Notations - In this series of works, I’ve embedded fragments of found twigs into concrete to explore a quiet dialogue between the natural and the constructed.
Each impression feels like a mark, a trace pressed into permanence that reminds me of early writing systems like cuneiform.
I think of the twigs as inscriptions made by nature itself…a kind of pre-linguistic script that records time, weathering, and change. A language before words, that is felt rather than read.
Through these embedded gestures, I’m interested in how the natural continues to endure and form its own language, even as the man-made begins to fracture and fade.
